Do you ever wonder where all your money went at the end of the month? You know you make good money. At the end of the month, it's all gone. If that's happening to you, you should be talking to me.
I'm Kevin Farrell at Farrell Financial. I do comprehensive planning. People don't plan to fail. They just sometimes don't get that plan in place, so they fail to plan.
I can help you do that so that you know where your money's going, how much should be going in your retirement, how much should be going into your college education funds, if you're saving for a second home. Whatever it is, we can plan so that there's money going to each goal so that you can achieve the life that you want to financially.
The key is to identify what you want to do and then go after those goals. If we can do that, you can achieve them, and then help you invest that money so that you can get the best possible returns, giving your risk tolerance.
One of the things we talk about quite a bit in our meetings would be your personal risk budget. Everyone has some number that keeps them up at night that they can't sleep if their investments go below.
Let's say you have $100,000 to invest. If that number that causes you anxiety is $5,000, if you're losing more than $5,000 and it keeps you up at night. That might be $10,000 for someone else. That might be $50,000 for someone else.
Whatever it is, we use that as your base and then design a portfolio that, statistically speaking, 98 percent of the time should not go below that threshold, so that you can then sleep at night and to maximize your returns for that number.
All of this is tied into your plan that's on the website that links to your assets so you know in an instant, by a swipe of a hand or click of the mouse, what your net worth is and how you're doing in the plan. Do I need to work a little bit longer? Do I need to adjust my spending now or in retirement, or can I retire a week earlier because the stock market's up? Whatever it is.
I'm very low key, very easy to work with, kind of salt-of-the-earth type of a presentation, type of working environment. I'll go over whatever questions you have or whatever concepts, as many times as necessary until you feel comfortable with it, so that we can achieve a nice long-term working relationship.
I'm not interested in short-term goals, short-term money, short-term relationships. We'll have a long relationship that is mutually beneficial to both of us.
I live here in Thousand Oaks with two daughters and a wife. I like to run when I get a chance. Most of my weekends are spent on kid-centric activities. I do get some time off to go on beautiful trails here in Thousand Oaks.
